Back to regular hours!
UPDATED 3/8/2021
We are back to our regular hours – Monday through Thursday 9:00am to 8:00pm, Friday & Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm.
We still have only ONE entrance open, the west entrance. You will still need to check in at the desk so we can get an accurate count of the number of people in the library.
We look to open the main entrance, and cafe area, by the beginning of May if Covid cases stay on the decline.
The Summer Reading Program is set to be our first “in person” programming since March 2020. Stay tuned for details.
AARP is here Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10:00am to 5:00pm. You will now enter through the library’s west entrance and go around to the theater to sign in and wait.
The library will be open for patrons to come in to use the computers (up to 8 at a time) and check out materials. You may visit the drive thru window for copies, faxing, printing, and any checkouts if you do not feel comfortable, or cannot, come into the building.
We will be allowing patrons to sit and read books or “hang out” for device charging or internet usage inside the library at this time. We will also be following the state’s recommendations for public facilities and our plan may change – increase, decrease, or cease services so please make sure you follow the library on social media (Donald W Reynolds Community Center & Library), check the website (www.donaldwreynolds.okpls.org), email (library@durant.org) or call (580-924-3486) with questions or requests.
Staff will be wearing masks when interacting with patrons and the 6 ft social distancing isn’t feasible and there are now plexiglass shields at the circulation desk, drive thru window, and intake table at the west entrance. Computers will be sanitized after each use. There are hand sanitizer stations throughout the library and lobby. These are available for both patrons and staff to use after each interaction. The circulation desk and library will be sanitized periodically throughout the day. Check ins will be sanitized before being shelved.
How do I check out books? Thanks!
If you have a library card you can come in to check out books. If you do not have a card you can bring your valid photo I.D. and a piece of mail with your Bryan County address on it to get a card. You can look at the online catalog to pick out items and ask that they be put at the drive through window for you to pick up with your library card so you don’t have to leave your vehicle. There are many choices.
Get a library card in person. You’ll need to live in Bryan County, have a valid ID, & proof of residency.
Will you be erasing fines so it says you have a Balance of $00.
We are waiving fines from March through May.
