Durant and Bryan county residences are eligible for a free library card. Out of County memberships are available.
How to Get a Card
- You must come to the library to get your library card as we will need to take your picture and put it on your account. If you're interested in a virtual card to access e-books & audiobooks via Libby by Overdrive please reach out to library staff. library@durant.org 580-924-3486
Requirements:
- A valid official ID. If you have a "real ID" that fulfills the residence requirement so no mail is needed.
- If you do not have a real ID then you'll require a secondary proof of residence. A recent piece of mail or any official document with your name and address . For example: utility bill, lease agreement, any piece of mail, etc. You can also use your voter registration, car's registration or vehicle insurance.
- In getting a library card you agree to obey all the library’s rules, take good care of all materials you borrow, pay all fines or damages, and give prompt notice of change in address.
- Children aged 4 and older may get a card if their parent or legal guardian gets a library card and adds them to their account.
To get the card onsite you must meet all three requirements above. If no proof of address is available then the card will be mailed out to the patron and should arrive in 3-5 business days. This is the alternative method to providing proof of address.
